Hokchi Marine Area
The Hokchi area covers an area of 40 km2 and is approximately 30 km from the coast, under a 30 meter water link. It is located in the marine part of the Salt Basin of the Isthmus, in the Gulf of Mexico, off the coast of the State of Tabasco. The contract provides for the evaluation and future development of the Hokchi marine area.
CNH Contract Signing
On January 7, 2016, the consortium formed by Hokchi Energy and EP Hidrocarburos y Servicios signed with the National Hydrocarbons Commission of Mexico (CNH) the Hydrocarbon Extraction Contract under the shared production modality for Contract Area 2. The contract was awarded on September 30, 2015 during the second international competitive bidding for Round One.
Evaluation Plan approved by the Mexican National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH)
On November 08, 2016. Hokchi Energy, an operator of the Hokchi marine area, initiated the implementation of the Evaluation Plan approved by the Mexican National Hydrocarbons Commission. The tasks began with the drilling of the Hokchi-2 well on October 30, with a depth of approximately 2,800 meters. This is the first well of the Evaluation Plan, which provides for the drilling of four wells during the first two years of the contract.
